Business Funding

There are numerous funding schemes designed to help businesses improve their output – be it productivity or expertise. Bournemouth University administers and has access to many funding schemes and will help you complete your application and guide you through the funding process.

The schemes include but are not exclusive to:

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) – A highly successful government scheme designed to help businesses access the expertise in UK universities through funded graduate recruitment. For more information visit the KTP page

Grant for Research & Development – This DTI programme provides grants to help individuals and small/medium businesses to review their use of technology, and to research/develop technologically innovative products and processes.

STEP – STEP is the UK's leading provider of project-based work-placements. The scheme enables motivated students to work together with small and medium sized companies and community organisations during a summer placement . Projects are wide-ranging but most involve the solving of business problems and enable the student to develop personal and technical skills.

NESTA – The National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts invest in ideas they think will give a commercial, social or cultural return. They want to create a climate where ideas flourish because they're exciting and original, not because they're safe.

SEMTA – The Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing provide support and access to funding for companies within these market sectors.
