The newly-formed Creative Technology Research Group (CTRG) unites together faculties and researchers in the domain of creativity and digital media. We focus our research and development on computer graphics, animation, game, human-computer interaction, multimedia, and sound/music – all with respect to the creative technology field.
The Group embraces both artistic creativity and technology. In the technical area we work on visual information processing (3D models, images, etc), virtual reality on medical application, computer assisted animation, game-based learning, modeling of emotional momentum, etc. And in the artistic area we cover networked concert, slow art movement, etc. To a large extent we are an inter-disciplinary body which bridges the gap between art and technology.
We have collaboration with a variety of partners worldwide, including Waseda University in Japan, Beijing Normal University in China, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Stanford University, University of Peloponnese in Greece, and various universities in EU. In the long term our goal is to further develop our overseas links and collaborations to enable us to become a Centre of Excellence.
