Hello and welcome to the School of Design, Engineering & Computing
The School provides a broad portfolio of cutting edge postgraduate programmes set in a vibrant academic environment. The lively academic culture is underpinned by research and enterprise and encourages innovation and entrepreneurialism in both our staff and students.
Our centres of research in smart technology, design simulation, sustainable design, software systems, psychology and creative technology, along with our strong focus on industry relevant and intellectually challenging courses, will provide a stimulating academic environment in which you can excel.
Our provision extends to 10 recently up-dated postgraduate programmes, broadly in the areas of computing, information and communication technology, product design and development as well as project management. Modules within these programmes are delivered in blocks of one or two weeks, providing flexible and efficient learning opportunities, particularly to those already in employment.

MA Product Design Management
The postgraduate design taught degrees at Bournemouth University are aimed at meeting the needs of industry which, increasingly, is seeking to employ highly qualified individuals to postgraduate level.
Design at BU has an enviable reputation for quality, and our course delivery makes use of facilities that are at the forefront in the design industry. Our postgraduate courses in Project Management, Product Design Management, Sustainable Product Design, Rapid Product Development and Product Design Innovation have recently gone through revalidation and approval. These established courses are built upon the strong foundations of our undergraduate provision.
We attract students from across the world and this has provided for an 'international' student experience that has been commended by external commentators. Whilst the duration of the full-time course is normally one year, students have the opportunity to undertake an industrial placement for up to one year following successful completion of the taught units. This will be of particular interest to those that are also seeking the opportunity of working in the UK as part of their studies.
