Associate Dean: Student Experience +44 (0)1202 965501 ProfileWith seventeen years of professional experience in industry, and eighteen in university, I deal comfortably with the breadth of applied computing, but my favourite field of interest is computer graphics – 2D. It is a very undervalued and under-researched area. It is often mistakenly regarded as a simple case of 3D, but in fact it has a very different problem-set, and requires very different facilities. |

Associate Dean & Head of Academic Group: Design and Engineering +44 (0)1202 965626 ProfileI am Associate Dean & Head of Academic Group for Technology and Design at Bournemouth University. My teaching areas are engineering and product design. I was in professional practice as a product designer before entering academia. I am a Member and Councillor of the Institution of Engineering Designers, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. My research activities are centred on sustainable product design, specifically the socio-cultural aspects of sustainable design. Currently, I am researching the psychology of product attachment and product life spans as well as how this aspect of sustainable design can be incorporated into design education. I have published in the area of design education since 1998. |
