PROPOSE AN EXTENSION
TO ANS FORTH
Anyone can make a proposal, but they must be meet the requirments of
a full ANS proposal. Where possible proposals must conform to the following
criteria:
- Consist of specific wording changes or additions to the standard, rather
than statements of policy.
- Include a rational for the proposal, including a citation of common
practice in which the proposed technology has been proven.
A proposal should provide information in the following headings:
- Title
- A one line summary of the proposal.
- Proposal
- The proposed alteration to the current ('94) standard. Where possible
this should include the page and the text you wish to delete and/or add.
- Typical Use
- Examples of how you envisage the proposed technology being used.
- Remarks
- Additional comments, implementation comments, side-effects, etc.
- Experience
- Examples of current practice, experiences with the proposed alteration.
Remember that you need to provide sufficient information for others to
implement your proposal on their system. Proposals should be submitted
electronically by sending plain text (7-bit ASCII) to me at
pjk@bcs.org.uk. Any proposal that does not meet these
criteria will either be rejected outright or returned to the submitter for
further development.
